As an unincorporated village, Angwin has no official town or city government. It does have the Angwin Community Council which strongly represents all corporate needs of the village to Napa County government. The Council is similar to a chamber of commerce, but because there are so few Angwin businesses, membership is extended to all residents of the community.
Those moving to the village are encouraged to make early membership in the Council as important as is the hook-up of utilities or the rental of a postal box. Membership donations may be sent to the Council at P.O. Box 747, Angwin, CA 94508. Although an annual Council membership drive is held throughout the village in the latter part of the year, all new residents are encouraged to begin membership at the time they take up residence.
In addition to its serving as a watchdog on county government, and face-to-face representation of village needs before the Napa County Board of Supervisors, the Angwin Community Council serves the village in the following ways:
